Marble (“Zebra”) Cake
Marble (“Zebra”) Cake
A fun striped cake where every swirl becomes a surprise pattern.
Why Kids Love It
Children are fascinated by the “magic” stripes — layering two batters teaches them patience, coordination, and creativity. Every cut reveals a new unique pattern, making it feel like an edible artwork.
Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp salt
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1–1½ cups sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 2 cups milk
- ½ cup vegetable oil
- 1 Tbsp vanilla extract
- ¼ cup cocoa powder

Creative Process
1. Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C). Grease a cake pan.
2. Combine dry ingredients: salt, flour, baking powder, baking soda, sugar.
3. Mix wet ingredients: eggs, oil, milk, vanilla.
4. Add wet to dry and mix gently until combined.
5. Divide batter in two; add cocoa powder to one half.
6. Layer the “zebra”: add 1 Tbsp vanilla batter → 1 Tbsp chocolate batter → repeat.
7. Bake 40–45 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
8. Cool completely before slicing.
