These vanilla–chocolate cookies are tender, buttery, and shaped into adorable little sheep — a charming treat that brings extra joy to family baking days. Method

  1. In a large bowl, beat the butter with sugar until creamy. Add the eggs and mix well. Divide the mixture into two equal parts.
  2. For thevanilla dough, add vanilla extract, half of the flour, and half of the baking powder. 
  3. For thechocolate dough, add cocoa powder, the remaining flour, and the rest of the baking powder. 
  4. Knead both doughs, wrap them in plastic wrap, andchill in the refrigerator. 
  5. Preheat the oven to355°F (190°C). 
  6. Divide the dough into small pieces, roll into balls, and shape a little sheep (as shown in the picture).
  7. Bake for15 minutes, until lightly golden.
