This article presents a summer cooking activity designed to help preschool children restore their energy while discovering the joy of culinary creativity. The lesson engages children not only in preparing a dessert, but also in play: it begins with riddles, rhymes, and games that make every child feel included and connected.
Together with the teacher, children transform sponge cake crumbs mixed with chocolate ganache into “ice cream scoops,” later decorating them in wafer cones. The process emphasizes imagination, teamwork, and sensory exploration, turning simple ingredients into a space for creativity and fantasy. The publication also provides two recipes — one for the sponge cake base and one for the cake-pop ice cream cones — so that the activity can be recreated at home or in the classroom.
