Playful Pages Beyond Recipes

When the book transformed into four seasonal volumes instead of one large collection, another idea became clear right away: each book would include not only 13 recipes, but also playful rhymes, riddles, and themed activities for children.

These activities always stay connected to the kitchen — just in a fun, imaginative way. They help children practice many skills while enjoying the cozy, food-inspired world of the bear family:

Math & Counting — counting eggs in kitchen cartons, making sure every plate has the same number of cookies, or checking that treats are shared equally.

Attention & Logic — spotting 10 differences between two pictures, matching gingerbread cookies, or finding all the pairs in a festive grid…

Mazes & Paths — guiding the bear cubs to their Christmas tree, or tracing colorful lines to see which forest animal will arrive first at the pie party.

Cooking Games — a playful neuro-challenge — children use both hands at once to match the omelet ingredients, training attention, coordination, and both sides of the brain, putting recipe steps in order, or decorating pancakes with the first letter of your name (a playful way to practice letters while cooking fun).

Festive Fun — folding napkins into heart shapes, pairing holiday cookies, or connecting gingerbread to its silhouette.

Creativity & Conversation — solving food-themed riddles, reciting playful rhymes, writing your own “Recipe for Happiness,” or answering thoughtful family questions around the table.

For me, the goal was always to make the cooking journey more diverse. Of course, the book is about food — but I wanted it to offer children many ways to explore, imagine, and grow.

This winter book is full of small discoveries: counting, matching, folding, smiling, and sharing thoughtful moments together. ❤️ All of it is designed to make a child’s development an engaging and delicious journey
